Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop Naming Convention

1) The 1st Alphabet will indicate the category type of the laptop.

• X/X1 Series: Xtra-slim and Xtra-Portable 
• T Series: Thin-and-light Performance
• SL or L Series: Low-cost 
• W Series: Workstation-class performance
• E Series: Edge or Entry Level 
• G - Generation (Indicates maturity of product)
• P - Portable Workstation
• Z - High Performance Workstation
• Yoga - Flexible and TouchScreen (2 in 1 tablet/laptop)

2) The 1st Number will indicate the size of the screen.

For example,

X280 is a 12.5" screen laptop

T480 is a 14" screen laptop

E14 is a 14" screen laptop (after 2020)

X13 is a 13" screen laptop (after 2020)

3) The 2nd Number will indicate the generation of the CPU. (Before 2020)

For example, X280 is a 8th Intel Processor that is released in 2018

4) The 3rd Number will indicate the processor (before 2020)

         0 - INTEL

         5 - AMD 

For example, E495 is a AMD processor that is released in 2019

5) The last alphabet of the model will indicate that it is sized up model

For example, T480s has more RAM and discrete Nvidia Graphics
